• I am a professor at the Department of Economics, National Chung Cheng University in Taiwan.
  • I received my Ph.D. from the Department of Economics, Michigan State University in 2009.
  • My research interests are empirical industrial organization and health economics.
  • I also have some works in applied micro including gender and family.
  • My current research focuses on physicians’ decisions and health outcomes under the National Health Insurance in Taiwan. Current research topics include:
    • The effect of physician ownership on physicians’ prescription choices and prescription quality. I have been studying inappropriate antibiotic prescriptions, drug-drug interactions, and patients’ medication adherence for quality measures.
    • Cesarean section and its long-term impact on children’s health outcomes.
    • Health outcomes of newborns and medical utilization under the pandemic.
  • I am also working on issues related to family and gender economics, including:
    • Gender concordance between physicians and patients and its effects on health outcomes.
    • Intergenerational coresidence decisions.
    • The effects of gendered laws on women’s life decisions.
